Always on the lookout for a great sushi restaurant, we tried this place and felt like we found our Reno sushi home. The rice - perfect! The server - so knowledgeable, such a good upseller (I appreciate that when it's done well; she got us hooked up with a delicious sake), and very attentive. We went in late afternoon and watched the place full quickly for dinner as our meal progressed. No reservations needed, but we liked the off hour experience. Each sushi piece was delicate, the exact slice, size, and freshness we are looking for. We've tried so many -- this is the most authentic, positive experience we've had at a sushi restaurant in town.

I can confidently say that this restaurant produces volumes of adequate and innovative sushi. It seems that they are able to quickly feed a lot of people and quickly. The rolls are cut into bite size pieces, so it's very shareable. We ended up ordering so much that they just made it the all you can eat price. What I would recommend is getting some soups and tempura to begin with. The first rolls you should try are the Ceviche Roll and the Captain Crunch Roll. Don't be afraid to try them all!

My family have been going here for years. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious and their service is consistently very good. If you aren't hungry enough to do all you can eat, try their poke bowl. Filling and delicious. Ample parking outside and plenty of tables inside. There is sometimes a wait but it's never too long g and well worth the wait.

Good sushi but they keep raising their prices. Also for a sushi restaurant, they don't have any uni or torro. However, parking is a breeze because they have their own lot. Try the civeche roll and their spicy scallop hand roll (raw), you won't regret it.

Had a craving for poke and decided to give Hinoki Sushi a try through delivery service. I had tried to visit in person in the past, and the place was too busy with a very long waitlist. Was able to avert that challenge by getting delivery and am happy I did! Delivery on a Friday noon time was less than 30 minutes. Ordered a "Do It Yourself" poke bowl with tuna and salmon, avocado, brown rice, and krab. Though I had to keep myself from comparing it to my favorite South Reno competitor, I was happy with the presentation, price, and flavor. Fresh and tasty, sweet and savory! Price is comparable to the competitor. Glad to have this South Reno option!

One of my favorite all-you-can-eat sushi spots! Hinoki always offers the best taste/quality of fish, the nigiri is consistently delicious every visit. I recommend getting the Escolar, super yummy butterfish that isn't offer in other restaurants. The appetizers appear to be simple, but it's a really good break in between the sushi. The service is attentive and friendly. If you're more of a nigiri fan, I'd check out this spot!

I've been a loyal customer of Hinoki sushi restaurant in Reno for a while now, and I can confidently say that their nigiri is the best in town. From the rich, buttery escolar to the melt-in-your-mouth salmon and snapper, every piece is a burst of flavor. But it's not just the nigiri that keeps me coming back. The creativity in their rolls is exceptional. The Playboy and Ceviche rolls are my personal favorites, and the Casanova roll is a true masterpiece of flavors and textures. Don't miss their quail egg shooters; they're an absolute must-try. One dish that stands out every time I visit is the Hamachi Kama - it's consistently cooked to perfection, and the flavors are heavenly. Beyond the exceptional food, what truly sets Hinoki apart is their service. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to make your dining experience memorable. It's the best service in town, hands down. If you're a sushi lover, Hinoki is a must-visit. Prepare to be impressed by their exquisite nigiri, inventive rolls, and top-notch service. They are great for large groups or just sitting at the bar for date night.

Trendy sushi place with AYCE option. We opted for a la carte and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. A coworker and I sat at the bar and chatted away with the sushi chef. He was quick to take our order and kind enough to explain all the different rolls. Fresh fish with beautiful presentation. Fair price and friendly atmosphere. Would come back again!

Above average AYCE sushi at a decent price. Atmosphere is not the reason anyone goes here. Seated at high top. Family oriented, so as one would expect, hectic, noisy and annoying to those of us who appreciate calm and peace. That said, food was very good and service was competent. Menu choices were unusually good for AYCE, I took advantage of the quails egg. Food, very good Ambience, average at best Price, reasonable We see why this place is so busy and successful.
